I apply my henna to dry, stretched out hair. If you're concerned about buildup wash/cowash the day before, dry in braids/twists, then when you're ready to apply the henna take down the dry/damp twists and apply the henna/indigo. You can always apply in sections and clip those sections up so when you wash the sections stay separated and don't tangle
wet: nopoo weekly (but sometimes more if i need it, especially after working out, but usually just warm water rinsing if during the week)
moisturize: daily botanical leave-in spray while in braids. you can make your own like i do or buy one from the store.
seal: daily to as needed (usually every 2-3 days) the goal is help the moisture stay in longer; evaporate more slowly; & avoid build-up by not applying more than needed/listening to your hair.
I know you didn't do these yourself??? I love them.
thank you:) and yes i do them all by myself. thank god my cousin went to cosmotology school & taught me how to braid, lol. i've been doing my own hair ever since.
