Troy, the photo you say that you don't think is Dr. Dang Thuy Tram was not taken by Fred Whitehurst, but was taken of Thuy Tram by the photographer Nguyen Gia in 1968. A copy of it was mailed home to her family that year, and a copy of it was included in Thuy Tram's diaries which Fred recovered after her death and kept for 35 years. Nguyen Gia was killed in Nga Man Village in Duc Pho, Quang Ngai in October 1968 in a military action. Monday, March 6, 2006 - 3:33 AM"
Thank you for this historical fact. I saw that same picture at the Vietnam Project-Texas Tech University website under Frederic Whitehurst search and I thought it was taken by F. Whitehurst.
