a sitting area in the upstairs hallway

I'd like a house that had alcoves big enough to sit in.

in fact, the entire castle is strange

It is strange. I wonder what his inspiration was. The top makes it look like a ruin.

Nice shot. I don't know how many times we have passed that spot and said maybe next time we will stop there.

By-the-way, did you get a chance to see the new pix in my Mystic album?

here's a covered gazebo area for picnics

I like this gazebo...sort of fits in the area

everything on the grounds was done with these stones - he even had his own private train with tracks that were around the entire area...

walking along the side of the castle - the porch area

even the porch looks hostile...can you imagine leaning towards these stones having a glass of wine and entertaining friends?? I cannot......auch

the views are magnificent...the house is weird to say the least

and when walking thru it - it "feels" wierd...but as you say the view is magnificent - on a day when it was so overcast it was grey but on a sunny day - wow - and in the autumn - the foliage is magnificent..I will have to photograph that this fall...
