In my busy life, I seldom "think" of how life was prior to mine at that moment ... until seeing pics such as these. These are beautiful and so thought provoking! It's tragic that over time  buildings, arenas and    especially museums couldn't have been preserved.
You would be someone I could sit hours with just listening to your fascinating adventures and travels. <Sigh>

Why so few trees? As you go inland, how is the tree situation there?
