A very cool image with the shadow play. Dan is right as your eye has a natural tendency to go to bright/high contrast areas. Here you have 2 equally [visually] weighted points of interest, where the dark shadows meet the bright light, and your eye fights for primary point of focus. You could get 2 images out of this one. One would be a cropped [primarily dark] left of the entrance/landing with the left hand rail as a lead in line and the other would be the fence shadow [primarily bright] and the right lead in hand rail vertical format.
