I happened upon your naturalfreedomjourney.com site today which documents your initial "Big Chop" in February '01. Looking at your plight has given me the courage I needed to embark on the same Journey. I was due to get my perm trimmed back today but looking at your pics has inspired me to get the "Big Chop" as well. My hair is short so I too will be wearing a TWA. Hopefully it won't seem too drastic and I go into shock...lol... Anywho, thank you so much for sharing your journey with the world. Your locs are absolutely BREATHTAKING. I too will document my journey in hopes that I will inspire someone as you have inspired me.
They r so cute. He reminds me of my son. As a matter of fact he is sitting over my shoulder saying that is me ma. When I said no that is not u, he said why is that not me. Toooo cute. :-)
thanks sooooooooooo much for starting me on my journey to loc-dom. Your hair still looks great. Now Im thinking about combining my locs.
BTW you look cute

Cherie: I remember coming across your website five years ago and correpsonded with your re: locing hair. You were then and still are an inspiration. I bought your book and your children were just young'uns and they are now grown and lovely and handome! You look radiant and so beautiful. Your teens could be on the cover of a magazine. You still are inspiring me that one day I very well may lock my hair. I still have the information from your website that I copied to save for the future if I ever do lock my hair. Even if I don't such information is valuable and affirming. God bless.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR STORY. I JUST CUT MY HAIR OFF ABOUT THREE DAYS AGO AND I AM SPORTING THE TWA! I LOVE IT AND I FEEL LIBERATED AND I FEEL IN CONTROL OF WHO I AM! I HAVE TO SAY I DIDN'T HAVE INTENTION ON GETTING LOCS BUT SEEING YOU AND YOUR FAMILY IS REALLY MAKING ME RECONSIDER! THANKS BLACK QUEEN!

You are truly an inspiration. i made what I thought was the big cut knowing full and well my index length hair was still too straight. In the midst of reading your story I decided to cut it all off. Once i have hair again I will definitely get locs. thanks for sharing your story
