Welcome to Raceway Park

I remember sneaking into the pits, then into the grandstands when I was about 15. I could hear the races at night from my house at 128th and Sangamon. Those were great times !!!

James Bond

I remember a couple of things: "Welcome to the Zoo" and Dan t-boning Tom Lamb in the driver's door during a claiming race. Dan was driving a '55 Caddy with 500 lbs. of sheet metal in the trunk. No way anyone could spin him out, right? Lamb driving under the alias of Roy Brandenburg did!

Heading to turn 2

It was Stash Kullman in the 4U car. Wanna say 1960. It was the greatest accident I ever saw. He might have been the only one to fly out of the track, but there have been others who have come close.
