This hand-painted detailing on the ceilings of the palace is amazing. When I was ther, 2004-2005, I could not help but admire it. I feel sorry for those Iraqis who had to paint it; already on the ceiling. It is beautiful and covers the majority of the palace's ceilings.

Fabulous pictures. You captured what I missed in my visit 10-1-07. THANKS! I got to see the results from your photos. By the time I got close enough to see them they were already back inside. I got to see them have a "food fight" after they had a time out to refresh their yard.
