Greenbriar county West Virginia close to White sulfur springs yes. Yes unfortunately there are homes being built on adjacent land bordering the forest

Kevin Randy and Chad determining water depth

WOW that is incredible that no one was hurt.. Or a farmer fell thru on his tractor.. What the heck is this caused from anyway???

Hi The cause for that large sink holes development is due to a nearby lime stone quarry. These quarry's routinely pump the water table down well below what is normal. This really screws with the geology in neighboring properties. The water table acts to support the ground above and when it is pumped below natural levels the ground collapses. I have encountered this before and at times you can enter the aquifers (some very deep and lenghty) which are generaly devoid of formations that a typical cave would have, but the karst rock is very smooth and sculpted and posses a beauty unique to itself

Hi Alan

Thanks for the Christmas wishes!

I think everyone I know would love to have more time. I would probably spend mine on more travelling and more photos!

Happy Holidays!
