Finally I'm here and I must admit that this place really deserve more than a visit! I have admired those gardens in past, but in my opinion the quality of shots in that collection is higher. Great views, wonderful landscapes, the fantastic colors of mediterranean winter and some people shots with your usual quality.... a beauty enjoy them during this Milan grey morning.....
I see that some landscapes (first ones) they need a little correction in their inferior part, but this is for sure a minor problem....

Yes, I have just received "A Thousand Splendid Suns" from the library.

I wonder if it is windy up there. Lovely stones on the foreground but the terrain wouldn't be easy to hike at all. You are such an outdoors person:-) There are lovely grounds in Finland to walk, too, you could try them for me:-))) My husband has been here but these are not his pics, I just found these of Karhunkierros (The Bear's Trail http://www.ruka.fi/summer_eng/nature/?file=content_exec&id=1279&submenu=630 ) in google:

Wonderful scenery, I think I have seen Monte Rosa when we drove in 1993 all over Europe and came back home thru Aosta Valley, I must have seen it from other travels, too. Have been to the top of Mottarone at Stresa. One was able to see many lakes from there on a clear day. Stresa is by Lago Maggiore as you know of course.
