Thanks! Good question. I can say for sure that the bright spot is a lamp. The advertisement is on canvas and the light follows the patterns of some crinkles beneath. I have no clue what the dark spot is. Looks almost like a click with a dark round brush on the pic but it's not, it's also on the untouched original. Looks like a shadow of the same or a similar lamp. We need someone to investigate at the place in NYC lol ... any volunteer?
The poppies of "Rememberance Day" ... November 11 in several nations. I think they got this idea from the wild Poppies. which are so beautiful and natural in Flanders. There was a movement to wear fake white poppies on this day to promote peace instead of wars. Never having seen a white poppy, I think it's a great idea! They are such fragile looking flowers in bloom.
