You will love it! All you have to do is to bring good weather ;) ... I go regularly shopping there.
My thoughts go to Japan today. I - like many many million others - have not forgotten and will not forget one of the most horrible crimes against humanity.
And we didn't learn much since. In terms of peace mankind is still in the stone age. It's not the sophistication of weaponry that defines mans position in the evolution but the sophistication of mind. Instead of sophisticating our hearts, minds and skills to develop human and nonviolent ways to solve conflicts, we sophisticated our stone age axes. The bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki were the most sad and shameful climax of this failure of "humanity".
6th August 1945 - 8.15 am , 62 years later a moment to remember in shame, a moment to contemplate what we have learned and how mankind evolved. This is why I add another link today - not about the history of nuclear weaponry but about todays weaponry..... "When will they ever learn?"
this photo appeals to my feelings: contrast of colors, spot of the light, feeling of coldness and loneliness... not mine - just reflection: it makes me think philosophically...
