I think the original one is warmer...I don't really see the need to change it...

~~~~ good point .....
... unless .... you change it radically ... and this will be for the long winternights ...thx for the inspiration
Not sure about this one...I think I like the coloured one better...I think.
pinkfreak! <giggles>
yea ... the effect sel described so awesome by the other rose lacks here...maybe a question of bad editing..not sure maybe i gotta go and redo it ..it already seemed strange to me when i changed it to BW.
somehow this BW album here helps me to see pictures clearer ... from a different perspective ... its a step in my learn process that just feels good .... the comments and comparisons are extreme helpful for me
many thx's to you and all others who give their comments, suggestions or critic and join the discussion!!!
Don't know how the original looks like....what I know is: this is a winner!
I simply adore this one, it has everything I want in a B&W picture!
Congratulations!
I think it is a great idea to try them out in B&W ! To be honest...I love B&W pictures.
I think this one is much better than the one in colour...but it is just personal taste...the other one is a nice picture too!
I just visited the colour version of this rose. Although it is wonderful, I prefer the BW version. Now why? Very hard to pinpoint. Let me try in French for tonight... Will translate one of these days.
La rose en noir et blanc fait ressortir toute la délicatesse de la texture des pétales, les contours, les gouttes de pluies avec leur ombre ou leurs reflets lumineux sur les pétales. Je la trouve plus sensuelle que la rose en couleur. Parce que l'on peut mieux se concentrer sur son intériorité? Il faudra que je réfléchisse encore!
Here it is in English...
The black and white rose makes us focus on the texture of the petals, the outlines, the raindrops with their shadow and the light shining through. I find the B&W rose more sensual than the coloured one because we can concentrate more on its interiority?
Perfect placement within the frame. Good gray scale too. I like this one
Here again the play of dark and light combine to make a great shot. The detail is super!! (IMHO)
WOW!!!!!!!!! I hope you have a framed B&W version hanging somewhere on one of your walls!!
~~~~~
my house is tiny..i MEAN tiny ... not much walls for pics ... i also would love it in large, but i would prefer the color version for the wall.... for this pic was made on 8july04 and i made all my pics in 640x480 till about some days after this .... its too small to print for a large pic :(

as u see..i need a new wall and a new cam

Super portrait. Is there a way to get more contrast into it without burning out the sunlit side??

~~~~~~~
unfortunatly not...or not now with my momentary knowledge...
this are the very first portraits i ever made in the sense of "please may i take some pics of you" i felt kind of rude and like an intruder with doing that ( have to learn that )
i sat at this guys table in a temporary outdoor cafe situated under a group of large trees... the guy sat exactly on the borderline between shadow and sun and with every little move his face changed from beeing in shaddow or sun...i also shoot against the sun what gives the extreme contrast between him and the backround... i was rather eager to get his pics and didnt dare to ask for more than what i already did (making some pics) didnt want him to pose either and asked him to ignore me so i hardly could ask to change position. he was pretty cool and relaxed. i just have to learn how far i can go when making portraits.
so this pics are already edited. maybe i can do more at a later time..my skills in ps are growing ;)
