Sometime in the '60's I read the book by Rachel Carson, The Silent Spring. Here we are in 2007 and what she said back then is coming true. The Bee's are in trouble and spiders are doing their work. I urge everyone to read that book if you haven't already. I'm still not a fan of spiders but they do have a place in the Universe.
And, finally, 3 years later, I got a taste of it. Was the BEST tasting pear I have ever had. It was so big, I ate half on 1 day and the other the next. What a great little tree! We need to name her.
Nice. How big is that thing, really? Almost thought it was an avocado when I first saw the thumbnail. I like how you get this close up while not disturbing the light.

~~~~~~ Your question about the pear made me realize that my little pear tree deserves its own album. So I created it and hope it will answer all your questions about this pear. This is about life size, but seems a tiny bit blown up in the foreground of the pic.
Wonderful. Can almost taste it. Nice composition and colours are so alive.
~~~~~~ You might be interested to hear that this are wild strawberries. They have an intense and very much better taste than the common strawberries. The downside is that they are very small ... the full grown berry is about 1.5cm (0.6 inch) in diameter.
