Is that a hole done on purpose, or some sort of damage it recieved at some point? I'm almost wondering if it managed to get shot at some point in it's life! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- That hole was placed there on purpose, in the old days people would string them around their necks, ankles and also sew them to their clothing to keep from losing them.....In the case of this coin, it got lost anyway............MIllenniumdawg
As i continued to upload ancient spanish coins to my web gallery the page number of countermarked copper coins has shifted to a higher value. The basic mysql database is changed with every new entry. You may also use the search function of the database - http://www.arminius-numismatics.com/coppermine1414/cpg1414/search.php - to find similar coins. Words like "countermark" "maravedi AND Felipe" will show you results for medieval Spanish copper.
