I have Gemini's granddaughter. Her name is Sera Bay Oak (Serafix Tu x White Oak Sarah)Her papers say she was bred by Clemson Univ, Clemson,SC. She was born in 85. You wouldn't happen to know or remember her, would you? I'd love to know about her as a youngster. I got her just a few years ago. She's had 2 fillies while I've had her and 2 colts before that. Well, Gemini is beautiful. Thanks, Lori
I remeber seeing him at the Arab shows at the Tacoma unit Years ago.. In fact, I started going to the shows in 1968 the first year we moved to Spanaway,Wa. I was at EVERY SINGLE ARAB SHOW held there, I Know Woody Madsen, Paul and Joy, Joey Canda, Mo morris, Pat Mauck-richardson, Ron Palaeck, I worked at different times for all of them at the shows... I still have Great Memories of being there and seeing him and GaZi.. Serafix was another favorite and so was Escadu,. I always wanted to own my own Arabian and show and place in a class.. I finally DID that in 1989 at BOTH THE DAFFODIL< AND THE CASCADE!!!! And we have grown from there. We now have 3 Purebred Arabians, and 1 Mustang and 1-3/4 Arab and 2 1/2 Arab/1/2 Mustang and I am going to be SHOWING AGAIN THIS YEAR!!!! I am so thankful to all the GREAT People with the Arabinas who helped me learn so MUCH and SHARED Their LOVE OF THEM WITH ME!!! CINDY (SNYDER) OLDS
Marci: Thank you for sharing these photos with us, and for letting us meet these very special horses when they were presented last weekend. This great mare, whose name is likely found on many arabian horse pedigrees today, was so regal and gracious while she was being presented. She's in wonderful shape, and is very satisfied with life. I felt like I was touching a bit of history when I got to meet her. You have such beautiful young horses there with all their youthful charm and exuberance. But, I think I had the most delight meeting the wise and experienced horses that day - legendary horses. A few of the older stallions certainly knew they had an appreciative audience and really enjoyed their day of glory - and deserve many more. Thank you and Best Wishes.
Marci, So good to see these great old timers from the past, so many of the new people in the breed do not remember how great the foundation of the breed were. So great to see a few of them still around and looking good. Brings back all my memories of my long years at Mekeel's and all those great old mares. So looking forward to seeing your farm and the horses when I get back to Calif. in March 2003. Yes I will bring my camera, so get them ready. Bruce
Again I' cry over your senior citizens--they are so beautiful. Like Sherry, I love the comparison in this picture. It's the way an Arab should look: proud and regal, not stretched out and scared.
Fogot to mention... it is amazing at the resemblence that Tess has to her mother... it is very obvious in this picture. I do see so much resemblence in the two! And at how similar SX Synsationl SHA (aka Al) is to both Gem and La Quinta...his grand parents!
I am VERY PROUD of this wonderful mare. My hope is that her daughter Tess and her offspring will produce and age as well as LQ has. She and Gem make quite the couple. *Serafix can be Proud!! Congratulations Marcie and the *Serafix "gang"! Laurie
