Wade's Tsunami

Seems ironic that "Wade" is taking a boat!

I've never seen the Bow River but have heard many stories. Can one wade it or is a boat mandatory? I saw a documentary on PBS just a while ago detailing the care with which sewage is handled in Calgary so as not to mess up the river. They claim that you can catch fish right through the middle of town.
