1937 21 stud flathead. Pretty much stock, boasting 85hp., preformed flawlessly! Engine never got hot and started instantly every time. This winter Jeremy is pulling the engine and trans in order to pop in a new clutch and throw-out bearing.
No forced air system here.... this is the major heat source and it can cook you out of the house in a very short time! Couple of electric heaters around the house for the cooler spots but once warm this place is very comfortable when the family snowmobiles in during the dead of winter. 3 to 5 foot of snow is normal most winters.
1956 T-bird survivor. Original paint, interior and engine. Door dings all down the sides.... some people have no respect for the classics. I love it and hope they never change it.
390 verson of the 1969 Mach 1. Not rare but seemed to be a clean re-painted original and not a total "overdone restoration". Very nice machine with sport slats, auto, standard interior and fold down rear seat. I like it!
Great fun to watch these little critters eat. A blue Jay got into the bottle and because of his tail couldn't turn around. He panicked and nearly died of fright the poor thing. About an hour later he managed to back out and we have not seen him since but other, smarter Blue Jays, leave this little rodent feeder alone for good reason!
This Monday morning the Fire Destrict held a Pancake feed to generate some funds for various causes. One of them is to purchase a new water tank truck. (The current one has 450,000 miles on it) The local Bend radio station brought out their very young dj's to broadcast from the event. Held from 8am to 11am, the line was out the door the whole time I was there. Food of course fantastic! Trucks had to be moved outdoors to give room for the tables. The Crescent Lake cabin owners assoc. also held their meeting (yeah, I went) here two days before.
Crescent Lake Fire District is located here close to the highway. Hwy 58 is a natural corridor between Eugene and hwy 97. CLFD is a mostly volunteer service drawing people from Crescent junction a stones throw behind me, to man the 4 engines and one emergency life unit. They respond mostly to car wrecks on the hwy but are also called into action when someone is hurt on the lake.
When we purchased the cabin that space between the trees had water flowing through it the level was so high then. It creating a little island whichs is now just a peninsula. The point has no cabins on it of course, and is just timber and dead trees. Those little trees in the notch are just a young 37 years old. The space between cabins 27 and 26, just wide enough for the deer to come down and drink if you get up early enough to watch.
