Actually I could use the battery compartment as well as the preamp . On my PF series, my pickup and tuner seem to work fine but my preamp does not work.  Could I use this to replace only my preamp and battery compartment, without changing my pickup ? thanks.

Yes, you don't have to change the piezo if the preamp model is same with the one in your guitar. 

Yes it will fit exactly if you already have the same model of preamp fitted on your acoustic.

I have an Ibanez PF series from 2006-2007. This looks the same as mine but do you know if it will fit exactly?  also, I only need the preamp, not the pickup - can i use this without changing my pickup (just change the preamp). thanks,
