Red Fox

Yeah....foxes adapt quite well to urban living, but it is unusual to see them out during daylight hours. She must be denning and the family is hungry. That requires many trips to the supermarket. And you are right about perspective on this photo. A BIG fox might weigh 15 or 16 pounds. Take all that hair off it and it's really quite skinny.

Was there just the one pup?

Aha! I am so curious as to two things. Why she made a den so close to a house, and because they look pretty mature, did she move them there from some other safer den!

This was on a green belt (a pretty narrow one) along side a pretty busy road. I was parked on the road and was quite a bit closer to them than the house behind it. And from my talks with a few passers-by, I think they have been here from birth.

What a thrill. Especially after I had seen the rest of the pictures! He looks a lot bigger than I think he should! I thought foxes were smaller than that.

She was pretty small. I don't think the photo provides a good perspective for her size.

You see. It doesn't have to be sunny to take pictures. A beautiful, natural shot!

I love the wild flowers and grasses on this shot as well as our bovine friends. All in all, a beautiful capture Beth.
