Thanks Dave, it's the first time I've tried this, so I'm extremely happy with the results. I just looked at all the different ways other builders have attacked a wooden bed, and came up with what I thought was easier for me to pull off. Now if I can get the rest of the truck to match the bed, I'll have a show stopper!
Aah, maybe a touch, but I think by the time you get everything else in there, it'll tone down a bit. And with detailing like the door panel work and the rubber looking areas, it's going to finish out very nicely I'm sure.
Thanks Dave! The only problem with it so far is the fact that it's printed on a clear decal sheet, so it's transparent. If you get some, use it over a White base and it'll look much better! Now if you want to see what you really should do with a pickup bed, check out this link!
C'mon, I haven't lost the cap yet...I think it's still around here somewhere! Besides, I've had three years to lose the radio faces, they're not that easy to find!
Thanks, I wish I had taken the time to radius the rear wheel wells some more, and swapped that engine out for one with more detail...but this was a "slump-buster, nothing more. Not the easiest kit for getting out of a slump either! LOL
Thanks Bob, it was a tough class due to the way they set up the classes. There was only 1 automotive class, so I was up against about 25 other cars. They had same class breakdown for aircraft, armor, boats & figures, so it was tough for everyone, but it was one of the smoothest run contests I've ever attended!
It's actually pretty easy, but you've got to do it a different way than the bottle says to do it. I came up with my own way after trying their way, mine works better! LOL
This one has been done for 16 years and the foil still hasn't come off!
Gary, it was a complete accident that I used the 3M Painter's tape, I couldn't find my wide Tamiya tape, so I grabbed the Blue stuff. The grain on it is nearly perfect for a vinyl top!
Hey Mike, I was surfing the web for some vintage dragster builds and came across some postings from Scale Avenue. I looked around, saw a lot of familiar folks there. I'd wondered where everyone had disappeared to. You were one of the first to help me when I joined BMC. Looks like you're still doing great custom work. Love that SSR Panel Truck! Later, Dave
Dave, if you're looking to join a great forum (Like BMC was back then), then click on the link below, and let 'em know I sent ya! It's drama and BS free, just a bunch of builders have fun and trying to improve with each build!
