Place 4: My photo of the week

Hi CKW,

I just logged on and this work of art greeted me on fotki's home page.
I thought I'd let you know that to me it's as magnificent as it was the very first time I saw it. It's one of my all-time favourites and I'm perfectly sure it will always remain so.
I find it amazing how the green of the trees has come up in a shot so dark.
I know voters don't vote for the things I like (one of my photos came second to last!!!) but I feel this was so outstanding they just didn't get how spectacular it is.
Well, there's space here to leave some words, maybe too many but I hope not. My theory is if I die in my sleep tonight I'll have spoken my truth - for what it's worth!
Have a great day.
Best wishes
Snow

Amazing light! Gives the whole picture a very sinister look - like sharp bloody teeth of a dragon.

Parangkusomo Beach

I really like the way the sun makes people into silhouettes, but highlights the texture of the sand.

Classic shot!

Sunset at Portuguese Settlement

Very interesting picture with many connotations. There is sadness and desolation, the decaying pier and dirt nearby, but there is also a path, however uncertain and shaky, into the brightness beyond immediate reach. Very minimalist and expressive composition. Great shot in all respects!

Absolutely beautiful. Composition is perfect. Much better than my 'oblation shots' from Indonesia. This one is inspiring!
