It was such a nice event and to go as a CCC team. I never knew that BBQs would come in these models and interesting shapes... some looked like old steam engines in railway. Samples were delicious. There was a wedding in the nearby hotel and they too barged into the area while trying to take some photos and added a beautiful touch with their dance to live music there. The only problem for me now is "I have to wait until next summer to BBQ... by then I would have forgotten everything I learnt during demos!" huh!
After lunch we crossed the street to have our photo snapped in front of a statue made where our tour was about to take place. A similar bronze, honouring pioneer women, is also on display at Fish Creek Park near The Ranche restaurant.
The Rockyview Hotel was built in 1904. According to the saloon's menu, at one time it was one of the few places for miles around where men and women were allowed to drink in the same room, making it a popular spot for Calgarians.
