I'm a huge fan of these types of "oops" shots. They work best with women who aren't large up top, which might explain why I take photos of the missus from this angle frequently. Love the eyes, too, though!
This model is also an artist who paints artworks. She sometimes uses a feminine nude photo as the basis for her painting, even using a photo of her nude self as the basis of one of her artworks, so she and I deliberately set up this shot for that effect of the 'accidental' flash of nipple. Her eyes have nice large pupils, to suggest that look of attraction that makes the pupils dilate. These were shot indoors in a lounge studio using strobes. The light level in the studio was dim because there were curtains up to control the amount of sunlight coming in. So the model's eyes were dilated at the time that I pushed the shutter button and the strobes fired. I was also careful to focus on the eyes exactly, using the manual focus mode because I never trust my camera to get the focus right, and allowing for a slight out of focus blur from her breasts and further back. I think I could have opened up the lens a bit more, it's hard to judge from the viewfinder image.
It's quite easy really. Set your lens to the widest zoom setting and focus to about 0.5m, set the camera to timer mode, find a suitable spot in tall grass, push the button and place camera in among the grass, wait for timer to run out while looking at camera. :)
I will try that next time I’m out with my camera. Had a go yesterday but only created a :| on my face as it didn’t work the way I did it. I didn’t have enough time to experiment.
It’s Plantago lanceolata Henry. The leaves are good for fighting bronchitis and the itch those horrible mozzies give after they have stung. You got another lot of great photos in here. Wishing you a merry Christmas. Christel
