    Hi Jennie,
                  Looks like a hoverfly with serious fungi disease. I've never seen one in that state before but have read about white powdery fungi that eats the flies alive.  

    You have a great collection of insect photo's.

    Looking a little closer, due to the white throat, I am pretty certain it is a Lanner falcon, or a Lanner / Pergrine cross, but I'll go with the former.

    Judging by the brown crown and thin moustache this looks like a juvenile Peregrine falcon or a hybrid. Good shot though.

    I remember walking that lane. A very fond memory too. But how did you see that ladybird at 600 feet away? *laughs*
