Constructivism In a Box

LOL, next time I go. . . I doubt it'll be that soon. It's a long-ass and relatively expensive trip. The stuff isn't 50 years too late, some of it was made right after the Thaw started. There are a couple of pieces that are just AMAZING . . . have you seen that painting, by Komar (errr, I THINK it was Komar) of Stalin and the golaya baba? :)

As for your portfolio, yes I would probably adore if it I EVER GOT A CHANCE TO SEE IT! Dammit. And I wanna see my book :)

Constructivism In a Box

ok..i guess an explanation is in order since the rest of the project isn't on here. Actually I dont know where it is...it went into a show last year and all i have left is this puzzle and the poster.
This is part of a corporate ID set for El Lissitzky...a constructivist. The puzzle itself is one of his more popular works taken apart (deconstructed)only to be put together by the user. It's a commercial piece.

Regarding the museum in Jersey...let me just get my wings back from the cleaners and I'll go ;-). But I have seen bits and pieces of their collection. Certain reactionary pieces to the socialist-realist movement...about 50 years too late. I'll look and see what I can find online...but next time you go...give me a ring.

BTW Renchik, you will absolutly adore my portfolio if you're into this Russian stuff. The whole damn thing is red, gray and Futura :) in a thin steel case.

Constructivism In a Box

Naverno ya chego-to ne dogonyayu. . . but what's constructivist about this? Isn't constructivism supposed to produce useful objects? Looks like suprematism if anything. (Can you tell what class I'm taking? :) BTW, that arrow is just PRICELESS. Such an innocent bit, I almost didn't notice it :)

PS - Suslik, if you're into this Russian avant garde stuff, I can recomment an EXCELLENT museum (you may have been there). I was just there. It's in Joyzey (Rutgers), but it's worth the trip. They have the biggest collection of non-conformist art in the world - and a pretty good amount of other Russian stuff mostly from the 20th century.
