lol, of course I mean Socialist Realism the movement where socialist realists are the artists. I just wrote it in Russian, sotz realizm. I am surprised, since his first name is rather rare, as opposed to his last name. Any Malevitches in your family tree? :-).

*****
Well...actually..i have seen his first name documented in a few ways...Eleizer and Lazar...he was from a small town around Smolensk...so people still stuck with Jewish names there at the time
And no..no Malevitches that I know of :)

How many El Lissitzkys could be out there, really? :-). As far as collecting, I give my preference to impressionism & soc realism. Impressionism by french & russian artists. Nothing contemporary, though.

*****

Lol..you'd be surprised at the number of Eliezer Lissitskys that there are :)
I am assuming you mean socialist realists...and not social realists, right?
