I am just blown-away by the detail and craftsmanship of this model. Viewing all the photos on the way to the finals were just too sweet to comprehend! I am so amazed I might just try and go back to modeling again! Wow! Was this a commissioned piece or a gift? What would something like this Island Girl cost me to have you build for me (a variation of course).
Thanks for the kind words on the Island Girl project. It was a gift to the gentleman you see in the pic- Scott Carter. I was actually a favor trade. My Brother in law does race t shirt art for a living. He did a shirt of my Uncertain C model. Later he asked if I would build an airplane for a friend of his -Scott Carter. Scott Carter had painted a pedal car for my brother in law. I said, "Wait, is that the Scott Carter who does all the killer military stuff?. (Check Fadedarmour.com) I am not doing a military build for him. I'll make a Hot Rod."He was thrilled with the results and we have been friends ever since.
I hope you do get back into modeling. I have been at it for 45 years.
I build very slowly, and have a backlog of several projects, so I really do not do commission models. However... Scott Carter does - ALOT. You can intact him through his site. If you can not get through, please let me know and I will get a contact for you.
Hey, what ever happened to Nate Sills, is he dead..? No he just got smart & left modeling, can't blame him for that. In fact, that's why he's alive & well in Bangkok a town appropreatly named... Plus he's not cutting the heads off Barbi dolls, she's not even Hawiian. I hope someone has "Ken" nightmare's for a week or 2..! Hizoot
Hey, I am alive and well in Thailand. I sold all my cars some years ago and traded for some of them back, the black car is here as is my first animal car. Right now, I am designing rings, I will send you photos of things I am doing now. Have some car jewelry coming soon also! I was just scanning the new and saw this. I remember you, Scott! I remember the whole scene back when.
