It started from a cut up Red Chariot with a lot of scratch building. Its the first version of Carl Casper's Fabulous Phaeton. They have changed some things since then on the real car.
Thanks Fred! I finished that a while back, and have had it in some contests. Several pictures are in my builds album. Here's one. http://public.fotki.com/ScottLynch/model-cars-i-have-b/builds/336.html I don't have any pictures posted, but started a second one when he was driving the next year. The model building has been rather slow for me the last three years, Hopefully I can get back to them soon. Do you still build?
The car Cliff is sitting on was my fathers. Next to it I believe is Bill Palmers Valiant. Then it looks to be Danny Hunters Ford. The 33 car in the back was Jim Exems. then Bob Halls Convertable. The 50 car in the back was Bill Harvey, and next to it the 28 of Andy Andrews. The 58 Chevy pickup was my fathers tow truck, and It looks like Marsha Allerys car beside it. If I am not mistaken, I think that is my mothers car (66 Comet) way in the back on the other side of the fence. It had a white vinyl top. This picture was taken in 1970. My father won the championship in the sportsman division with the car Cliff Shaw is sitting on. The people are the officers of the Speedway Park Stock Car Association at that time. I really miss Speedway Park. Thanks for your comment, Joe Sherwood has a site with hundreds of vintage Speedway Park pictures at; http://kingnitro.smugmug.com/gallery/3205036_jzjPK You should check it out.
