Is this definitely the Watson-owned '59 Coupe De Ville? Going by the masking tape outlines along the base of the fins and the rocker panels this appears to be an Eldorado, Watson's candy red '59 was a series 62. Mike
This is my Grandmother with my Grandpa's 1937 custom. The car was built in Oakland Ca, Sometime in the early 40's & had a Carson top. My Grandpa (John Bigelow) said he had seen Tommy " The Greek" Hrones car, then he had this car built.
He said that Oakland was a hot spot for customs in the 40's. My Grandpa would tell stories of this car, but never seen pictures until Grandma asked me if I wanted some old pictures that she was going to throwaway, None of my 4 uncles even knew he ever had the car.
Almost lost some rad family history.
Thanks for all your time to put this site together & posting these pics for others to enjoy.
Do you have any history of custom's & shop's in Oakland Ca ?
