Thank you for posting these pictures on the wire. I am a Buckaroo and I hope to make it to Winter Range next year with my Dad. I hope you had a good time there. It sure looks like a great place! Missouri Lefty
hi, your marlin is one beautiful rifle.would you ever consider doing that conversion to my 1895? what a beautiful conversion.a rifle to cherish forever. If you could possibly do this for me,please give me a call 906 524 6448 thank you keith
Wish I could. But I don't have an FFL so that is impossible. Any good gunsmith that works with lever actions could easily do it. The very difficult part will be finding the barrel. I lucked out BIG TIME as I simply mentioned it on one of the gun forums and a fellow had one and sold it to me for $50!!!
Wow, that rifle has a very high fondle factor. Just stole a 52 c target, the love to scope it. Hate to drill and tap it. Trying to find a target spot or redfield 3200 that I dont have to sell the cow too buy.lol Chris
Robert, What would you charge to do this conversion for someone else? I had my shoulder replaced and recovery will take at least one year. I am a right handed shooter but will not be able to use hammers and the like as described in your article for at least until April of next year. Bill Nichols Victoria, Texas
Bill, I don't have an FFL so it would be impossible for me to work on your rifle legally. And you would need to find an octagon Marlin barrel which would be near impossible. I lucked out like hitting the lottery to find one. You used to be able to send your rifle to Marlin for this conversion. You should call them to see if they still offer the service. If you could find a barrel, any gunsmith could do this in three or four hours.
Looks really cool. I'll definitely build one like it. Did you use home-made parts or used parts from another muffler? I love my DL-650 but it looks very 'onesided'. Rgds Miltos
