What kind of activity goes on in that place? Seems an odd location for a factory.

It's a cement works, and it's located there because it's 5 kms from a Limestone mine (needed for the cement) they have a 5.2km overland aerial cable car setup that carries 1.5 tonne capacity buckets from the mine over rugged terrain to the plant , you drive under it on the way in to the township.
