This photo brings back childhood memories - I lived on properties near Carinda as a child and Carinda was the hub for socialisation in the 1950's. ithin this block of commercial shops was also a Picture Theatre, Milkbar/caferteria and further along this section a general store - there was also a general store across the road and a bakery to boot!!
Hi I took a photo of your gateway last year in March when you had the two crocs eating a bride train and flowers. I found it very entertaining! I saw the photos again yesterday and searched renkan and here I am! You've taken some great shots. Cheers Lyn
I am writing to you on behalf of Meg and Mary of Gumin Gumin Homestead, unfortunately the historical homestead burned down on the 8/12/09 after a council bridge fire started and took out the homestead.
Everything was lost in the fire; I was looking for photos of inside and out side of the house and found your photos on this site. The owners would very much like and appreciate if you could send me the photos of Gumin if at all possible.
Dear Brett, I came across your message on: http://public.fotki.com/Pedro23/on_the_road_sales_rep/farmstays/gummin_gummin_farm_stay/viewcomments.html when I was searching the internet to find the where-abouts of Meg and Mary. We had been looking for both ladies several times, but at first there was no-one present, as the gate was locked. Then, to our dismay, we found that Gumin Gumin had burnt down. I assume that our address also got lost in the fire, that's why we haven't heard from either of the ladies. Could you please forward our address details to them when you meet them next. e.g. Paul and Gudrun Kiesskalt 52 Hamilton Road, Bayswater North, Vic., 3153 Telephone: 03 9729 0954 email: mailto:p_kiesskalt@optusnet.com.au (Paul) mailto:gkiesskalt@optusnet.com.au (Gudrun)
Also: I have some 159 digital photos, mostly from Gumin Gumin, but also some of the surrounds, which I could put onto a CD and mail them.
