Nice! I see you added the front end and wheels from the Monogram '78 kit. That's a project I did many years ago and want to do again. I also have a '71 Trans Am wagon like this going too.
Hey, Ron! No, sadly, it's a diecast. I brought these two along from home to display, and I bought FOUR more from a fellow MAMA club member. I've probably bought a dozen or more Pontiac racers - Firebirds, Grand Ams, and G6s, for what I would call 'Fire Sale' prices - $10 to $20 apiece! Some of 'em (like the Grand Am) are even autographed.
Ironically, I first saw this car in a museum up in Saratoga Springs, NY for the GTOAA Nats. Little did I realize that it would end up in Maryland!!
He showed up at The Royal GTOs All-GM car show last year, just after it started raining, ending the event a bit early. It took about six months to catch up to him. Neat thing is that it is an automatic on the column w/bucket seats.
Thought you might enjoy the '74 SD455 Trans Am, packin' a factory 4-speed! Not the best of colors mind you, but I wouldn't kick it outta the garage!
I'm actually contemplating buying a '76 Grand LeMans from a local here. Not really my thing, but the price is definitely right if it is still available. I could get a complete, presentable car for less than $1,800! What's not to like about that?! My wife had a triple white '74 Luxury LeMans before we were married. Nice ride!
Love the '73-'77 A-bodies. I've had 7-10 of them over the years. Grand Ams, Lemans, GTO,
They ride great and can take any engine Pontiac made. There is a website devoted to the 73-77 Pontiac A-body. Lots of good info and articles there. Just google A body site.
Got several guys in the GTOAA who have '73 4-speeed GTOs, including the 'ultimate' '73 GTO - the 'one of none' '73 SD455 GTO that rewceived the Perfdormance Car of the Year award for '73. Parts were gathered and came together as an Ascot Silver car w/black interior and a 4-speed - AWESOME car! It received a Concours Modified award at the GTOAA Nats in Saratogs Springs, IIRC. It's in my Forki albums somewhere.
BTW - missed out on the '76 Lux LeMans - it's gone. So, I'll just hafta be happy with ONE vintage Pontiac for now - my '68 GTO.
Built that one new back in the day, and it has somehow managed to survive all these years. Milt Schornack LOVED it when he saw it at the GTOAA Nats in Louisville 'way back in '06 (IIRC).
