Hi. 30 yrs ago, I had a best friend named Deannie Mercer-Worthy, from Jackson, Miss. Your friend Deannie looks enough like my friend Deannie, to be the same. I would really like to re-connect. My name is Steve Fritz. http://www.facebook.com\renovator or mailto:steve.fritz@hotmail.com Thanks!
Definitely not my sister, Deannie. Ontario born and raised. I don't think she's ever been to Mississippi -- Mississippi Lakes, in Ontario, maybe. But not the state.
My Grandmothers family name was Diaz, she was born and lived during the Mexican Revolution, someone in the family married a Frenchman last name Lagrave. I was wanting to find out about my Mexican heritage. Her family was made to leave Mexico, My Great Grandma and grandmother was born in Merida, and then she grew up in Cammpichi Mexico. Not sure when or where but she married my grandfather who was Blackfoot Indian and lived on an Indian reservation
I don't know about the United States, but in Canada, the government has very good records of those living on Reserves and in Indian Bands and Nations. In Canada, Indian Affairs even has a genealogy office which helps Native people trace their roots (so that they can prove their Indian Status). Records include birth and death information, treaty payment records, censuses...
There may be some information held by the Bureau of Indian Affairs (or whatever it is called, these days). You may also be able to find information through the National Archives. You could also check with the local LDS (Latter Day Saints) genealogy office. If they don't have the records you need, they can lead you in the direction you need to go.
Churches on or near the Reservations may well have baptismal, marriage and other records, since most Native people became devout Christians.
My father was austerbertas cousin and he was also relatedto Baudelio uribeif you know anything about who were parents and family of Austerberta. R REnteria
I too have seen this house -- but you have caught its spirit in a wonderful way .. the snow is a bonus ... it might be nice to see it as a the top of a large poster -- above the field
