I purchased this recently as an alternative to Jane Carter's Nourish and shine ( $22 a pop lol!). I don't really care for the smell so I probably won't repurchase, but so far it's been a really versatile product. I scrunch it on my braidouts/twistouts for sheen and on the very front of my hair when those styles are wet and setting. It gives a nice healthy sheen like when I would use hair grease as a kid, except this is much healthier. I'm always afraid to use too much because of the beeswax in it, but it hasn't built up in my hair. But, yeah, you're right that our hair doesn't shine on it's own. Jane Carter is the closest thing to shine that I have found. ------------------------------------------- yeah i try not to use too much lol i hate buildup
