Loved seeing all the photos of the ss Southern Cross. Brought back tons of good memories. I sailed on her from Cape Town to Southampton April 20 to May 15 1970 (her last vovage). That was the year Chelsea won the Cup and fans went "nuts" on the ship. Thanks.
Hi there, I was looking for pictures of Ahmadi form the 1980s and came accross this. Your dad looks familiar. I think Kenneth (yoru brother) was in my class. Wanted to know if you rememberd me?? If you were still in touch with people from the anglo american school. My dad was a Doctor at the KOC I had a couple of brothers Alfred and Samer. Thanks Nada ---------------------------- Remember you all well Nada, Alfred was in my year at the AA School. See email - Pam
While on the Balmoral there was plenty of good entertainment, but there was one particular act called Dain Cordean magician. Now don't get me wrong, but I hate magic acts so sitting down prepared for the worst and to be board stiff! But I was so blown away by this act it made all the other entertainers on the ship look lame, he was bloody funny and very talented, really entertaining. I think the guy was English, but I could be wrong? If he is English then why have we not seen him on TV with his own show..It has put my faith back into magic acts....but you would have to go a long way to beat this one...just so different and talented.....I hope to see this act on the next cruise I take, and on TV in the UK , as I don't think it will be long! Thanks for a great cruise Balmoral will be back soon.
Nice and perhaps the first Go-Kart track in Gulf region. Today KOC built a building (I think for training) on the same site. The gas station next to this track is still there (which you have it published under Ahmadi Sites). I have lots of printed photos for events in Ahmadi Go-Track. When I fly back from Kuwait today back to my home in Dubai I will convert to electronic files and share it with you.
Hi I do like this ship very much and also her sister Spirit of Tasmania III as I live in Tasmania near Devonport her port of registry. Spirit of Tasmania II has had a bit of a rough time on the sees with swells up to and some times beyond 20 meters and she has had her upper door smashed in. Hope to here from you so we may talk more about this splendid ship and her time in Italy ect

Still evident is that classic, rich RED interior scenery that I remember on Home Lines Oceanic as a boy! Do you recall the name of this band, or artist, whose setup is photographed here? Please let me know if you remember :} Thanks for sharing all the great photos! Chris
