To big chop or not... I did not do the big chop = took the long transistion route. Stopped perming when I got pregnant and every 5 weeks I got a good trim and had the roots flat irons. Hair would not hold a curl so I mostly wore pony tails. Last perm was April of 2004 and in August of 2005 I cut off the last few inches of permed hair. I did not have breakage and slow transistion worked great for me. Others do a big chop and get it all over with. I think it depends upon your hairs tolerance to the two textures and your tolerance to change. Keep us posted on what you decide.

Thank you for your advice. I can't quite see myself with short hair so I will transition for about a year before the BC. I am having such a hard time dealing with the two textures though.
