The lower, brighter box kite is a modern re-work of the design f the Gibson Girl. Oddly, I didn;t note it at the time I was taking pictures.
I call it Gibson Girl II. I thought it was the same size as the original, but I can see by comparison to yours that mine is larger. My goof.

Well, they're not at the same distance, so you may be OK.  Also, I would not be stunned if there was more than one size.

    Old and new cellular kites.
That's the kite I call Phase Shift. It won Ingenuity Award at a past Smithsonian Festival and is now my "workhorse."

Simon brought a very cool kite from New Zealand.
Or... did the "Space Racer" make it across the Pacific under hos own steam?!?  Curious question!

Charlie SOtich, master kitebuilder, specializing in miniature kites, and all around great guy.
And I now own the coffee mug with his bio on it.  I'm leaving it in my Will to Marla Miller for her kite paraphernalia collection!

Simon 2.0 and his magnificent kite that won Grand Champion in kite making. (I say Simon 2.0, there were two Simons at Convention and I usually try to avoid using last names here...)
Could've called him "Simon Also"... ;-)

I said "Oh look, a duck." Phil took exception: it is, he claims, a platypus, and he sang a lengthy song about it to prove his case.
As far as I know, the platypus does NOT wear a hat.  But, maybe they've just gotten trendy while I wasn't looking?

"Space Racer" is his name... looks serious, too!

NOT the Mega Flag. But nice.
Not the mega kite, but the mega circoflex.  It is 17 feet long and has a 20 foot circumference.   It is 340 sq. feet of nylon.  How do I know this,  well, my husband and I made this kite.  :).

We called it Stars and Strips.

Saw this one flying earlier, gives you a better sense of scale.
The kite has two more feet of red and white stripes under the lower edge.  This was a high as we could hang it in the banquet hall.

You could call this a mega circoflex.  Yup,  17 feet long and a 20 foot circumference.  340 sq. feet of nylon.
