I know my mother in laws mom was a Sarokin. Who or what was the Lediev connection. Thanks cuz
Your Mother-In-Law's Grandmother was Katerina Ignatevna (Ledyaev) (1854 - ?), (a Mordovka) who married Levon (Leon) Fedarach Sarokin (1850 - ?) in 1875.., Kars Province, Russia. (G.B.)
Wow, finally, a picture of my Great-Gradfather (front row, 3rd from left) Wasily Treglazoff; from the looks at him, he's as big as me, I'm 6'6" tall. Thanks so very much for this picture.
Happy to be of service Michael... eh.. er.. MR. Treglazoff, Sir. (GB)
I wish I knew exactly how I am related to this person (maybe Ivan is my great grand uncle), I do know my Great Grandfather on my Dad's side was George William Babeshoff and he brought my family from Kars and they resided in the Guadalupe Valley before going back to L.A. My grandfather William was born in the Guadalupe Valley. My father, Steven Babeshoff had a great photo of the family in Baja in front of their Adobe house probably not far from this grave site.

I thought you knew, John.. "The surname Boldyrev (standard Russian spelling) is very common in Russia (the accent falls on the first syllable.). It is locational in origin and indicates the national or ethnic origin of an early ancestor from the 17th or 18th century. It is derived from the Old Russian term boldyr' which means "a child born from an inter-racial marriage" such as Russian-Mordvin, Russian-Mongol, Russian-Samoyed, Russian-Tatar, Russian-Turk, etc. The word boldyr' in turn is of Mongolian origin and means "brother-in-law". (Jon Kalmakoff's 'Origin & Meaning of Molokan Surnames')

Vera Efseaff married Mike Tolmasov and is my Aunt by marriage. She is disceased- survived by my Uncle Mike and her oldest daughter- my first cousin Valerie.
Thank you Christopher.., we'll make a genealogist out of you yet.! (G.B.)
George, Mike is the Russian guy that I was introducted to when I was staying at your mom's for the summer. We went out on a date forgot where and he actually flew to Santa Clara to see me but, I was already dating my then boyfriend whom I had planned to marry. He was killed in Viet Nam.. It has been a very long time since I have seen this picture. Does anyone know his wereabouts? Would love to just talk with him to see how he is doing. Veta and her sisters and myself all got together that summer, it was a very fun time for me. Wish we lived there instead of Santa Clara. Wish we would have been around dads family a little more often so miss knowing the family on dads side. Don't remember his last name but, Veta may know.
