One variety of crab apple. (Wild apples)

Are those some of the tinier apples? Cedar waxwings devoured that type off our trees one fall a few years ago but haven't seen them lately.

............................
Yes the wild crab apples are very small.

..........................................
I'll get Harriet to help you over, but she has trouble with this stile it drops steeply down to the lane.

Another lonely tree with cattle to keep it company.

........................
You are welcome but you have to be fast where food is concerned, Harriet raids the fridge!!!

Sheila AnnCanada wrote: Saturday, August 23, 2008 - 2:14 AM
Which way now?

I gues either way takes us to the same place??? No wonder I am confused. This place is very confusing! LOL!
..............................
The sign that points right is the path we took earlier! We'll go left.

The path through a very sorry looking wheat field.

Great angle shot. The wheat does not seem very tall or healthy looking!
.................
I'm surprised the farmer bothered with this part of the field.
