Ran into (Billy?) Sullivan in San Diego, 1964. We kick around together til I got out (Oct '64).
I'm sure you didn't forget me. I wasn't the easy guy to like. As you remember, I didn't take to the California surfers to well and they didn't take to me.

I was stationed at Radio Barrigada from 1962 thru 1963. George Overman looks familar. During that time I was the only Ham Radio operator (KG6GX) for the club station. Made a lot of phone patches during those years in spite of the huge amount of RFI from both transmitter sites.
I was stationed there in 1973 - 1976 and the transmitter site building was operational but the other buildings were abandoned and later used to house Vietnamese from Operation New Life at the end of the vietnam war. I stood guard as a Navy radioman at the entrance to the transmitter site...
My Father was Lt Thomas A Donegan (may have been LCDR at that time) I am looking for any information on him. I was borth on Guam in 1948 since the whole family was there.
What memories I have of driving into that elephant cage. I remember the "road toads" that would hop out onto the road on a wet night. You could hear their little bodies "pop" as you unavoidably run them over! The next day, their sun ripened and flat bodies would litter the road.
The pictures in this album were from an album put together by an ET stationed at RB in 1951-52, Not in the 40s. I cannot recall his name but he sold these collections during the 1st part of 1952. I was assigned to Bldg #1 from Sept 1950-July 1952 and lived in Quonset Hut #1. You will find me in photo number 6 of the Bldg # 1 personnel, in front row, extreme right, (as Viewed) I still have a copy of this album in my photo collection safe..
Mr. Couch, I lived on Guam 1952-1953 as a Navy Dependent. My Dad was Lt Raymond Brenise Sears. I am looking for a particular picture of a Japanese Tank which I believe was in Radio Barrigadan near our home. This tank was made into a monument of sorts with a small white picket fence around it. I have lost a lot of my pictures and need some for my memoirs requested by Grandchildren. Any such pictures or advice most appreciated. Best regards, Mike Sears
I am a retired Senior Chief Radioman who operated and maintained the teleype equuipment. I was stationed at Naval Radio Station Thurso Scotland, NAVCOMSTA London, Naval Facility Nantucket, one submarine tender, one destroyer WWII vintage and three submarines. All used the Model 28 ASR/KSR, AN/UGC-6, and the TT 176. Your photos bring back many memories.
I'd say this picture is from the early 80's. It looks the same as when I was there. I did two tours out at Bldg 200 with NSG as a CT Marine. The vehicles in the parking lot, especially the Suzuki Samurais, which were really popular on Guam are I'd say 80's vintage...Think I see a Camaro in there too!
