Not in this case. Several of the women in the congregation knit these prayer shawls and they are given to people for various reasons based on the need for extra prayers. Before new prayer shawls are given, they are brought into the sanctuary at a regular service. After the service individuals come up to say a prayer or two to bless the shawls. Last I heard, over 600 have been given out since they started this project.
