WOW! I know this car, I worked for Skeet & his father back when this car was new....and it had a lot trophies. Remember after a weekend of racing he would finish with a quick run on Rt. 7. Also know Skeet, did the lettering on his One Lap America when it left from Darien Ct. I'd be willing to bet he still has this car today!!! Hey Skeet
This is my dads truck. It was at Island Dragway opening day in 1960 !!! A friend of his owned it then and raced there for many years, my dad tried to buy it from him back then but the guy wouldn't sell it to him, said he was to young for it. My dad kept up with who owned the car for years but lost track of it. In the late 70's he found the cab on a flatbed truck at a swap meet at the Ledgewood drive in movie theatre. The guy who owned the truck back then, who wouldn't sell it to my dad was there with us. My dad beat him at buying it !!! The lettering on the visor " Sandy" was still there confirming it was the same body. We restored it to a close replica and drive it on the street & nostalgia race it. 50 years later it's at the Island Dragway 50 year Anniversery !!! How cool is that ?!?!?! Had a great time !!
